Cystic Fibrosis is an inherited chronic disease that affects the lungs and digestive system of about 30,000 children and adults in the United States (70,000 worldwide) In the 1950’s few children with CF lived to attend elementary school, now thanks to advances in research, medical treatments have further extended the life of children and adults, many people with the disease can now expect to live into their 30’s and 40’s and beyond. By bidding on this item you help raise money to buy science and science buys life.

Amazing Gift

We received a surprise today (yet to arrive, but we can’t wait!!) from Mona Lisa’s Dolls by Anna van Rhyn who created this stunning Paul Shortino doll (sorry, but we have to call it an ACTION FIGURE. It’s a guy thing).  Check this out, the likeness is amazing.

Check out her other works on her facebook page (click on her name above to visit).  She’s even created some fantastic examples of a few of our favorite friends in the business including the boys from The Sin City Sinners

No word on if it’s atomically correct (Carmen will confirm I’m sure….)  Big thanks to one of our favorite bass players Chuck Wright for that question!

SIN CITY SINNERS Announces Benefit Concert

The Following is courtesy of Road Runner Records & Blabbermouth

On Saturday, November 27, Las Vegas’ favorite band SIN CITY SINNERS — which features Todd Kerns (SLASH, AGE OF ELECTRIC), Brent Muscat (FASTER PUSSYCAT), Rob Cournoyer (RAGING SLAB) and Michael Ellis — will kick off an open-ended weekly run at Chrome (inside Santa Fe Station) in Las Vegas. The first show at Chrome will also serve as a benefit for cystic fibrosis research and awareness at 10 p.m. For the event, the SINNERS will be joined by several special guests, including Jimmy Crespo (AEROSMITH), Phil Varone (SKID ROW, SAIGON KICK), Paul Shortino (KING KOBRA, QUIET RIOT, ROUGH CUTT), Louie Merlino and Ron Mancuso (BEGGARS & THIEVES) and Carol Lyn-Liddle (DANGEROUS CURVES).

SIN CITY SINNERS‘ manager Jason Green‘s best friend Amanda Thompson is living with cystic fibrosis, making this cause very close to him and the band.

“If there is one thing I have learned from Amanda, it is to never give up. I could sit around and feel bad or I can step up and try to make a difference,” Green said.

The band will be selling limited-edition merchandise at the show with all profits going directly to Cff.org.

“Through managing the SINNERS, I have been fortunate to know some really great and famous musicians. Many stepped up to get me items to help raise money for the charity. Growing up these guys were my heroes and they still are,” said Jason.

Beginning Monday, November 29, you will be able to visit TheSinCitySinners.com to bid on autographed items generously donated from TWISTED SISTER (donated by Eddie Ojeda and AJ Pero), Vinny Appice (DIO, BLACK SABBATH), L.A. GUNS (donated by Phil Lewis), Frankie Banali (QUIET RIOT), Cheetah Chrome (THE DEAD BOYS), Dave Ellefson (MEGADETH), Tim “Ripper” Owens (JUDAS PRIEST), Ron Keel (KEEL), Evan Seinfeld (BIOHAZARD), Blas Elias (SLAUGHTER), Bruce Kulick (KISS), TRIXTER (donated by Pete Loran) and more.

Many people with the disease can now expect to live into their 30s, 40s and beyond. The possibility of a cure is only limited by dollars. Money buys science and science buys life, hopefully one day CF will stand for “Cure Found.”

On April 9, 2011, Jason Green will captain the Sin City Sinners Team for a 5-kilometer walk in Las Vegas to raise money for CF . He will also be joined by all the members of the band and fans are encouraged to join the band and participate in the walk.

Paul was recently interviewed by Metal-Rules.com

 Great interview by MARKO SYRJÄLÄ

Paul Shortino is a USA born rock singer who has sung for several bands including Rough Cutt, Quiet Riot, Bad Boyzz, and The Cutt. In addition, he has released several solo albums and has been a part of many different projects.

The latest solo effort CHASING MY DREAM was released in 2009 and recently he has joined a renewed version of classic hard rock band King Kobra. In September 2010, Paul performed in Stockholm with legendary band Great White.  There I had a chance to hear the latest news and some vintage stories directly from the man himself.   Read on!

Check out the interview in this month’s Chaotic Riffs Magazine…..

Chaotic Riffs Magazine is an online music magazine that is geared for a variety of music styles, such as, rock, metal, nu-wave, pop and even rap.  We believe that rather than be representative of only one style of music we should be as eclectic as music lovers are.  There is always that one song that person likes that does not fit into their primary music style and there may be an interest in what is going on within that music community.

This months issue (14) is dedicated to the late QR Singer Kevin Dubrow in which Paul provides details of his friendship with Kevin and the other members of QR as well as provides some insight into his time with the band.  It’s a great read for any QR & Shortino fan!
